Demonstrating their ongoing commitment to community support, dedicated volunteers from the Morton Newington and Sydney teams recently joined forces with Anglicare for a corporate volunteer day filled with teamwork, generosity, and a shared purpose of helping those in need.
Held at Anglicare’s bustling warehouse, the day saw Morton staff roll up their sleeves and dive into the essential work of sorting, packing, and preparing food relief for vulnerable households. Anglicare is one of Australia’s most trusted community service organisations, providing food, housing, and emotional support to thousands of people each year.
The Morton volunteers spent the day organising pallets of donated goods, packing bags of pasta, and loading vans with food hampers ready for distribution. The hands-on experience offered a powerful insight into the scale of need in the community – and the vital role that volunteers play in helping Anglicare deliver hope and nourishment to those who need it most.
For Zinmar from the Newington office, the experience was deeply meaningful.
“It was so rewarding to give back to the community and work alongside incredible people while doing so. We went through pallets and pallets of food donated to Anglicare and organised them, made bags of pasta and loaded up a van to be sent out to those in need – and although it was only a day, we all left knowing we had made a positive impact.”
Anglicare’s corporate volunteering program offers businesses a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference while fostering teamwork and social responsibility. With the rising cost of living and increasing demand for food relief, the need for support has never been greater.
Morton’s involvement reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the communities they serve. “We’re proud to support Anglicare and their mission to care for those in need,” said Morton’s Director, Amanda Browell-Hook. “It’s important to us that we contribute in ways that create real, lasting impact.”
The day was a reminder that even a few hours of service can help change lives – and that when teams come together with purpose, the results are powerful.
