At Morton, giving back to the community is more than an occasional initiative. It is a core part of our culture. Through two days of paid volunteer leave each year, team members are empowered to step away from their desks and into the communities they serve. The program encourages meaningful community involvement while recognising that the gift of time can be just as valuable as a financial donation.
Across our offices, team members have embraced the opportunity to support a variety of causes close to their hearts. From helping local charities and community groups to volunteering at fundraising events and neighbourhood activities, these volunteer days have enabled our people to make a meaningful difference where it matters most. Morton’s giving back initiatives have focused on three key outcomes: making a difference, strengthening team connections, and creating a feel-good factor that benefits both volunteers and the communities they support.
The impact can be seen across many of our offices. In Riverwood, team members help host the ROAR (Residents of Riverwood) monthly community barbecue, bringing neighbours together and fostering stronger local connections. Our Woolloomooloo team volunteered with The Mirabel Foundation, helping provide disadvantaged children with a memorable day out, while teams from sales, leasing and property management joined forces with realestate.com.au to volunteer at St Vincent de Paul in Surry Hills, sorting donations, stocking shelves and assisting with pricing.
For many volunteers, the experience leaves a lasting impression. One standout example was Morton’s partnership with Foodbank, where volunteers helped create food hampers for families in need. Team members from our Penrith office were among those who contributed to the creation of 1,140 hampers for 1,140 families. The effort resulted in 19 pallets of food and an incredible 28,728 meals reaching people across NSW and the ACT.
Volunteer leave also supports a wide range of community-led events. Teams have helped organise Easter celebrations, Christmas events, charity walks and local fundraising initiatives, creating opportunities for residents to connect while raising vital funds for worthy causes. These moments not only strengthen community ties but also remind us of the positive impact businesses can have beyond their day-to-day operations.
The collective impact of these efforts is significant. In 2024 alone, Morton supported five charities, raised more than $10,000 for community causes, donated 106 hours of volunteer leave and contributed over 60 hours towards hosting community events.
Volunteer leave is often viewed as a workplace benefit, but at Morton it represents something much bigger. It is an investment in our people, our communities and the belief that small acts of kindness can create lasting change. Whether it is helping pack hampers, supporting local families, hosting community events or lending a hand to a charity partner, every hour volunteered helps build stronger, more connected communities. That is why, at Morton, giving back will always be more than a day off. It is a chance to make a genuine difference.
