Volunteering with Foodbank was a rewarding experience, knowing our efforts were going to make a massive impact on less-fortunate families across the ACT and NSW at Christmas time. The day was filled with a sense of purpose and community spirit as we came together to support those in need.
Amy and Belinda from our Morton Penrith office, along with other volunteers, were able to create 1,140 food hampers for 1,140 families. This monumental effort resulted in 19 pallets of food – Foodbank’s record for the most hampers and pallets made in a single day. What is truly amazing is the number of meals these hampers will produce for the families – an impressive 28,728 meals!
The presence of other volunteers made the experience even more enjoyable. Knowing we were all there together, trying to do our part for the community, added a sense of camaraderie and shared purpose. The teamwork and dedication of everyone involved were truly inspiring.
We look forward to continuing to take part in more volunteer days like this one. Each event is an opportunity to make a difference and support our community. Volunteering with Foodbank has shown us the true power of collective effort and the significant impact we can have when we come together for a common cause.
