Saturday 11th March is going to be a fantastic opportunity to come together for some fun, frivolity and celebration.
Given the enormous challenges our local area has faced over the last couple of years, this special afternoon extravaganza has been organised to celebrate and bring together diverse people and
cultures that make Thornton such a thriving community.
The day will kick off with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony by representatives from Muru Mittigar acknowledging the Dharug people as the Traditional Custodians of the land.

Great Music
The sensational Carly Champion Band will set the mood for the afternoon.
Carly and her crew have played at some of the biggest venues in Australia including Qudos Bank Arena, the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Entertainment Centre. Equally impressive is they have played alongside Australian household names including Kate Cebrano, James Morrison and Todd McKenny.
Oh, and they also played at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Paralympic Games!
The Band has a vast repertoire so you can look forward to hearing the latest hits, mixed with some old-school rock and maybe even a few soul & blues classics thrown in to satisfy every music lover in the

Exciting Entertainment and Fabulous Food
As well as great music there will be performances showcasing the wonderful cultural diversity that is alive within the Thornton Community.
Part of the charm of Thornton is the fact so many people who now happily call Thornton their home still maintain connections with their cultural heritage and welcome the opportunity to share that heritage with new neighbours.
This exciting melting pot of art, culture, music and food will all be on display at the We Love Thornton Event. You will be able to travel the world without leaving Ron Mulock Oval.
Delightful Displays
There will be something for everyone and all ages to experience, learn, try and see.
• A sustainability stall and display will provide information on how small changes can make a big difference to our local environment.
• Penrith City Council will display an electric vehicle for those curious as to what all the fuss is about.
• NSW Police will have a car on display for the kids – who hopefully will never need to know what all the fuss is about.
• The Museum of Fire will bring along a selection of its amazing displays.
• A vintage car display for all car enthusiasts to enjoy.
